Pax - I have to go with the opinion that the man definitely was beyond the bounds of safety in his driving - he is lucky he got just a ticket, and that he got an escort as opposed to stopped right there. As many others said basically...
Quite simply, your "normal" driver is not trained or experienced in driving at those speeds, nor is their car prepared for it. Add in the stress of other traffic, plus the imminent childbirth, and this was a recipe for disaster.
