“May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.”

"This report is maybe 12-years-old. Parliament buried it, and it stayed buried till River dug it up. This is what they feared she knew. And they were right to fear because there's a whole universe of folk who are gonna know it, too. They're gonna see it. Somebody has to speak for these people. You all got on this boat for different reasons, but you all come to the same place. So now I'm asking more of you than I have before. Maybe all. Sure as I know anything I know this, they will try again. Maybe on another world, maybe on this very ground swept clean. A year from now, 10, they'll swing back to the belief that they can make people . . . better. And I do not hold to that. So no more running. I aim to misbehave." ~ Captain Malcom Reynolds

Early tripblogging

The airlines may officially get humped. $25 per checked bag? Because they apparently expect us to travel with nothing now.

And $90 for a 4-pound "overweight" bag - no thanks, I'll move two books to my carryon fyvm.

Plus has anyone in the last decade actually had a flight leave on time?

I had to check this blog when I read the title. Captain Mal is one of my heroes, for sure. :) Very shiny!

Heh.

Yes, I've had flights depart on time, but its not particularly frequent. I've learned to be very fastidious with my packing because that 50 pound rule is a bitch.

And if you check in online United at least is only 15 bucks.

Still a screw job, but not as *bad* of one.

And that's why I refuse to fly with checked-in luggage. My rule is, if I can't squeeze it all in my carry-on bag, then it doesn't need to come with me. I figure I can always buy sample sized toiletry items to (a)fit in my bag or (b)buy when I land and use there if the hotel doesn't have everything I need. I'm not much of a fru-fru kind of woman anyway so I tend to travel light. I'm weird...I know. lol.

However, if I do travel away from home for longer than a week, I usually drive....because I am taking the dog with me. It costs a fortune to board a dog her size!
