“May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.”

"This report is maybe 12-years-old. Parliament buried it, and it stayed buried till River dug it up. This is what they feared she knew. And they were right to fear because there's a whole universe of folk who are gonna know it, too. They're gonna see it. Somebody has to speak for these people. You all got on this boat for different reasons, but you all come to the same place. So now I'm asking more of you than I have before. Maybe all. Sure as I know anything I know this, they will try again. Maybe on another world, maybe on this very ground swept clean. A year from now, 10, they'll swing back to the belief that they can make people . . . better. And I do not hold to that. So no more running. I aim to misbehave." ~ Captain Malcom Reynolds

Legal madness

Two parts of this story have me annoyed & wondering:

#1 - The judge wanted to delay sentencing because he was unsure of the rational of the sentencing guidelines??? Ummm is this his first day in the system or something?

More importantly, #2 - This is the guys SECOND child porn conviction? And he only got 4 years on the first? Something wrong with this.

Sorry, too much research out there shows that pedophiles and the like don't get reformed, it's just an ongoing cycle - so why are we leaving these folks free to offend again & harm other kids?

I think they should all be locked up and the keys thrown away. Sex offenders/phedophiles do NOT change. I don't care what anyone wants to think. They don't change. Time and time again that has been proven - look at the repeat sex offenders. And some even escalate to murdering their victims to ensure the child doesn't tell on them. So then we have a sexual predator who kills (a serial killer).
