Since I'm working on school stuff, and have no real content to post I will ask a question of my readers.
Drop me a comment - I'm curious as to how people found me and what brought them here. Also, if there is anyone who I've neglected on the blogroll please let me know & I'll fix it.
Just a few ramblings from a confused guy. Former military, former cop. Husband. Father. Student. Role playing gamer, on intermittent weeks. Avid reader. Internet addict. Small "l" libertarian. Too many others to mention. The views and opinions expressed herein are my own, and do not reflect those of any official agency or government or species. Names have been changed to protect the guilty; God protects the innocent as a matter of course.

"This report is maybe 12-years-old. Parliament buried it, and it stayed buried till River dug it up. This is what they feared she knew. And they were right to fear because there's a whole universe of folk who are gonna know it, too. They're gonna see it. Somebody has to speak for these people. You all got on this boat for different reasons, but you all come to the same place. So now I'm asking more of you than I have before. Maybe all. Sure as I know anything I know this, they will try again. Maybe on another world, maybe on this very ground swept clean. A year from now, 10, they'll swing back to the belief that they can make people . . . better. And I do not hold to that. So no more running. I aim to misbehave." ~ Captain Malcom Reynolds

Hmmm. I think I encountered you on the IRC first, but maybe I followed you over from Brigid's blog. I honestly don't remember!
Crud, I don't remember how I found my way here in the first place. Ahh well, I'm sticking around anyway.
My friend Jon, who I met playing a Star Trek roleplay by email game, reads your blog and pointed me to it. I got drawn in by your descriptions of arrests and various police procedures and stuck around.
It's all about the IRC, man!
via another police blog, don't know who's
take care

You can blame the Indiana blogging contingent whom I stumbled on by ways I'm still not entirely certain on.
It was probably Brigid's blog though.
I can't remember...maybe Meadowlark?
I stumbled my way over from some other police blog, but I have no idea which one it was.
Pretty sure it was from some other police blog, no idea whose though.
Also - IRC? As in Internet Relay Chat? Which network? I'm on efnet/dalnet/a few others, usually as 'kastein'.
I'm pretty sure it had something to do with you saying, "It's my last night in town"...oh, wait...that's not what you meant, is it?
Just got back to my state.....I cannot remember how I first ran into you...but I think you found me first, maybe?
I found you to be ill-tempered and usually a little too cocky. And usually wrong, as well. That being said, I also found that you weren't a complete jack-ass and that your braggadocio really didn't penetrate deeper than the skin so you were, essentially, a marshmallow with a crust burnt by cynicism. The whole "Sound and Fury" thing. But...I also found that you could grill a good steak and that you had a really cool wife...so I figured I'd stick around.
I got here via Johnny Law's blogroll. Any blogger who quotes that much Firefly is of interest to me, plus you've got XKCD and Girl Genius on your links.
That's all the info I need. :)
I came here via Dori's blog - and I found her via "A Police Wife", whom I found on the blogroll of "Constable Confused" (an English Police Officer) - any further back and I'll need to take the 5th :-)
What keeps me coming back is the possibility that you will one day re-achieve the greatness of the very first post I ever read here. It was Tuesday 22nd December last year - and if there's anyone reading this who wasn't around back then, do yourself a favour.
My son (23 not 4!) uses it to cheer me up if he thinks I am looking glum. Even in the most formal company, he merely needs to hum a few bars...
Our thanks and continued laughter from Warwickshire England.
Well, I met a bunch of goofy squids at a cafe in Honolulu circa 1992, time passed, people bounced around, lost touch, reconnected, lost touch, and Dori dropped me a line so we're on a reconnected phase, instead of the bouncing around one:)
Happens when you're friends with a bunch of other nomads, eh?
I found your blog just by looking up Police Academy stories and one thing lead to another and I started reading police blogs. I'm interested in starting a new career and going in to law enforcement. I mean, a man can't shuffle of this mortal coil without having heard "These aren't my pants" in a professional capacity, now can he?
who knows? Either Mrs. Fuzz or Motorcop... it all (for me) started w/ those two and it's been downhill ~ or uphill!! ~ from there!
I forget how I found ya, but since I spend all day 4 days a week mitigating DUI convicts and lining them up with in vehicle breathalyzers, the subject material here is of personal interest. Plus, you have a cool first name.
Realistically, probably found you on someone else's blogroll.
