Got the handicapped parking permit in the mail today - don't need it all the time, but there are days it will be a necessity...
I've already practiced shaking my cane and yelling "You kids get outta my yard!" so I'm fully prepared.
Of course, I also keep telling my wife I need to use it in the police truck just once... if only for the picture.

"This report is maybe 12-years-old. Parliament buried it, and it stayed buried till River dug it up. This is what they feared she knew. And they were right to fear because there's a whole universe of folk who are gonna know it, too. They're gonna see it. Somebody has to speak for these people. You all got on this boat for different reasons, but you all come to the same place. So now I'm asking more of you than I have before. Maybe all. Sure as I know anything I know this, they will try again. Maybe on another world, maybe on this very ground swept clean. A year from now, 10, they'll swing back to the belief that they can make people . . . better. And I do not hold to that. So no more running. I aim to misbehave." ~ Captain Malcom Reynolds

Promise to post the picture?
Sword cane?
Here goes double. I want to see that picture.
I've not requested one, yet. I keep thinking others need them more than I. I'm hoping when the Medicare kicks in I'll be better able to afford my meds, and not need one. But, who knows?
Shepherd - I don't use a sword cane because #1, it's very hard to find a decent one and #2, they tend to have some legal issues...
On the other hand I can take my regular cane anywhere, even on a plane - and many of the same techniques still work, you just are hitting instead of cutting.
For the others, I'll see what I can do about getting that picture done.
Guffaw, I can relate - I held off for a while getting mine as well. But with my knee acting up more & more lately as I said there are days I want it. As for the meds, if it wasn't for the fact the VA covers all mine I'd be hosed as well.
Just don't wack any old people on the head too hard while fighting over the parking spots!! ;)
