“May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.”

"This report is maybe 12-years-old. Parliament buried it, and it stayed buried till River dug it up. This is what they feared she knew. And they were right to fear because there's a whole universe of folk who are gonna know it, too. They're gonna see it. Somebody has to speak for these people. You all got on this boat for different reasons, but you all come to the same place. So now I'm asking more of you than I have before. Maybe all. Sure as I know anything I know this, they will try again. Maybe on another world, maybe on this very ground swept clean. A year from now, 10, they'll swing back to the belief that they can make people . . . better. And I do not hold to that. So no more running. I aim to misbehave." ~ Captain Malcom Reynolds

Experiment

- Following the recent computer upgrade & reload, I'm seeing how well things work with running solely Open Office as opposed to the Microsoft version. I don't need Outlook for the Calendars or such, as I use the Google so as to sync with the phone, email is done on the cloud etc. Basically my big needs are word processing and being able to at least read Excel documents and such - which so far works fine. Given past experience I think the only issue may be some occasional formatting burps between the two, but we shall see. Hopefully it works though & saves me that bit of money.

- In other fun my wife is attempting to answer my son's questions about Easter weekend in the other room, and becoming frustrated because he continues to switch it over to the great Zombie Jesus. Yes, our children are warped already...

Please, oh please, tell me I can steal the "Great Zombie Jesus" line. That's priceless.

You didn't see us in the south passage. She expressed her true feelings for me...

Wait. Crap, We're *not* quoting Star Wars for fun and profit, are we. Damned reflexes.

As to Open Office - it works. I prefer the real thing (because I have an in that can get it reasonably cheaply, legally) - but if one doesn't, OO will fill the gap, as long as you remember to save in a Format that Office can read, and don't expect amazing things.

HB - I use Google docs for some things, but other items I dislike sitting on their servers for all eternities...

Jon - I learned about the format change back on my first use & that isn't an issue - just seeing if it works long-term otherwise. So far no issues.

Shepherd - feel free, I wasn't the originator merely a repeat offender!
