- Spent the majority of my morning running around with the Princess, just enjoying some daddy-daughter time together & giving my wife a bit of a break to get some things done. We both had a good time & I am very grateful that our lives and schedules let me be around for things like this. The thought of still living a life where I deployed for 6-9 months of the year, and the resulting part of my children's adventures I would miss just shocks me - and for the men and women who did & do it, I am most in awe.
- To the lady with the stunning inability to drive this afternoon... perhaps if you removed the midget dog from your lap, stopped texting on your phone, and generally comported yourself as an responsible adult instead of a self-centered twit, you and others would be safer. Just sayin'.
- Still a few more days off of work, so enjoying the break, but no new stories and adventures.

"This report is maybe 12-years-old. Parliament buried it, and it stayed buried till River dug it up. This is what they feared she knew. And they were right to fear because there's a whole universe of folk who are gonna know it, too. They're gonna see it. Somebody has to speak for these people. You all got on this boat for different reasons, but you all come to the same place. So now I'm asking more of you than I have before. Maybe all. Sure as I know anything I know this, they will try again. Maybe on another world, maybe on this very ground swept clean. A year from now, 10, they'll swing back to the belief that they can make people . . . better. And I do not hold to that. So no more running. I aim to misbehave." ~ Captain Malcom Reynolds

I grew up with my dad being away from 6-8 months at a time. I'm not going to lie it's tough, but we made it and I love my dad a lot, and despite him being away a lot still.
You're lucky to be able to spend time with your daughter. You sound like a great Dad, and i'm sure if she loves you half as much as I love my dad, then you're very lucky.
