“May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.”

"This report is maybe 12-years-old. Parliament buried it, and it stayed buried till River dug it up. This is what they feared she knew. And they were right to fear because there's a whole universe of folk who are gonna know it, too. They're gonna see it. Somebody has to speak for these people. You all got on this boat for different reasons, but you all come to the same place. So now I'm asking more of you than I have before. Maybe all. Sure as I know anything I know this, they will try again. Maybe on another world, maybe on this very ground swept clean. A year from now, 10, they'll swing back to the belief that they can make people . . . better. And I do not hold to that. So no more running. I aim to misbehave." ~ Captain Malcom Reynolds

Capitalism in action

Had our tax money come in today, so we loaded up the tribe and rolled up to Northern Virginia to do our bit to keep Swedish-American trade strong. Got some furniture for the bedroom shift at the Ikea store; saved a bit over what the "normal" furniture store style costs & stuff we liked better. In the process we were also reminded by the I-95 traffic, the hordes of people out shopping, and all the other stuff as to why we avoid big-city living... Too many gorram bodies trying to be in the same place at the same time.

Once in a while, wading into the fray is worth it.

And some people wonder why I am such a fan of Amazon? I can get almost anything I need, delivered to my door (with said delivery being free of charge since I belong to Amazon Prime.)
Besides, having just moved to the Northern Neck of Virginia, I am at least 35 miles from the nearest big box store.

Throw a few bucks into a worthy cause then?
