I also remember I liked The Coral Island very much -- which I read one summer while staying in England with my grandparents.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15602584162552131798noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7976334216965295921.post-53384255395044211712011-01-24T07:14:56.271-05:002011-01-24T07:14:56.271-05:00My favorite childhood book has always been and wil...My favorite childhood book has always been and will remain "A Little Princess" by Frances Hodges Burnett.

It was the first book I read with a little girl who really *was* just like me in the way she thought and the things she did. Anne of Green Gables was close, but I wasn't really a clumsy girl with a big imagination... I was a storyteller with a huge imagination which I used to get me through my worst days in *exactly* the same way Sara did.

If you've seen one of the movies, it probably hasn't captured the essence of that... you'd have to read the book.Gothelittle Rosehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02033938810970984908noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7976334216965295921.post-17062087860859606782011-01-23T16:54:49.230-05:002011-01-23T16:54:49.230-05:00And it was one of his illustrated by the great Edw...And it was one of his illustrated by the great Edward Gorey...Dorihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17258322944946475959noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7976334216965295921.post-7551257180233584922011-01-23T16:42:19.137-05:002011-01-23T16:42:19.137-05:00Sounds like a great book.
